The White River Valley has one of the largest elk herds in the State of Colorado, and Buford is nestled in the heart of this territory. The deer population is on the increase, and some big bucks are being taken every year.
If you are looking for a guided hunt, Buford Guide Service, Inc. is a licensed Outfitter in the State of Colorado – Lic. #890. Tom Tucker has been guiding in the White River area for over 40 years now, and not only knows the land, but usually knows where the elk are! We offer guide only hunting trips starting at $1,250 for a 5 day hunt. Tom has White River Forest permits in units 23 and 24, along with two parcels of private land. Please call us for full details.
Cabin rates start at $90 a night for two for the rustic cabins, and $120 a night for two for the modern cabins. RV camping rates start at $25.00 a night. There is a 5 night minimum during hunting season. These rates apply from October 10 through the end of hunting season. Reservations are needed for cabins and RV spots, so call early as this is our busiest time of year.
