Buford has some of the best fishing in the
State of Colorado. All of our cabin and
camping guests have almost a mile of
private river access on the North Fork of
the White River, located behind the cabins.
Between the North Fork and the South Fork of the White River there is over 50 miles of public access for fishing. Besides the River, there are numerous small creeks for fishing, such as Marvine, Ute, and Fawn. Backcountry lakes and beaver ponds number well over a hundred, and they will challenge the best fisherman on a good day. More accessible, is Lake Avery, 1 ½ miles from the store. It is a Colorado Division of Wildlife reservoir, and allows small, motorized boats. The world famous Trappers Lake is only 25 miles east of Buford, and is renowned for its native cutthroat trout. Stop in for directions and open water areas.
If you are looking for a guided fishing experience, Buford Guide Service, Inc. can offer fishing on private and public land. We also offer lessons for those who are new to either fly or bait fishing. Be sure to call ahead for guided fishing excursions!
